straightontilmorning: (did not do anything wrong)

this looks like a job for me so everybody just follow me cause we need a little controversy.

From the corridors outside sickbay came the sounds of feet hitting the floor wetly, one slightly louder and on a time delay, indicating either a limp or one boot taller than the other.

Which it was became acutely obvious when the door to Sickbay slid open and revealed one James Kirk, remarkably resembling a drowned rat, soaked from head to toe. Somehow, about half of her shirt disappeared in various places, but don't worry - the layer of mud she's coated in does a fair job of hiding anything top-secret.

And one boot was missing, in case you wondered. To add to the mystery, Jim carried a pink ball of fluff resembling a kitten that she put down on the Sickbay floor as soon as she came through the doors, and, yes - her arms were slightly covered in light scratches.

"Don't ask."

"Alright then," he replied with a nod of his head.

"Good."

Beat.

"Am I done?"

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"For now. Try to keep out of trouble the rest of the day, won't you?" he replied.

"I'll tr-"

Of course, the kitten chose that exact moment to attach herself to Jim's arm again. With claws. All over that newly fixed-up arm.

"Jesus Christ," he grumbled, moving swiftly to try to disentangle the cat from her arm. Good going, bringing that fleabag aboard, Jim.

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
The kitten helpfully responded by sinking her claws in deeper while jim swore creatively.

THIS WAS JUST NOT HER DAY.

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Somehow, lord knows how, Leonard disentangled the cat from her whilst barking at the nearest nurse to take the little monster and lose it.

He had a feeling she'd only take it.

Immediately he began to work on her wounds again.

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Her misfortune.

"I'm getting the feeling this day doesn't like me."

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"You should come by my cabin later. Might as well end it on a high note," which well, he HOPED time with her boyfriend was high note.

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll do that."

And in the meantime?

Staying here to bug him. :|

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
He'll grumble, but secretly enjoy it.

"Nice to see your attempt at staying out of trouble today lasted so long."

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"That wasn't my fault."

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
"You brought that fleabag in here." So technically, it was.

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't have a choice."

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Right." This, Jim, is the sound of your boyfriend disagreeing.

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
And that was the sound of her making a face.

[identity profile] hesdead-jim.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
He would totally kiss that look off of her face if they weren't, you know, in his med bay. Because he's worked out that kisses? Really do work on shutting her up.

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course they do. It would be very sad if they didn't.

"I'll explain later?"

[identity profile] kirk-it.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Good, because she's pretty certain she couldn't have reversed the polarity of the neutron flow.

"Good."
